Pediatric Voluntary Recognition Program
For agencies currently recognized under the legacy Pediatric Voluntary Recognition Program
Any EMS Agency that is currently recognized under the Pediatric Voluntary Recognition Program prior to September 2024 does not have to immediately transition into the new Prepared for Pediatrics – EMS program. Should the agency desire to continue recognition under the new program the process is as follows:
- For an EMS agency whose EMS Licensure expiration date is before July 1, 2026, the agency can wait until any time during their next licensure cycle to apply, effectively giving the agency up to four years to apply. The agency can apply earlier but must meet the criteria for a new applicant regardless of when they decide to apply.
- For an EMS agency whose EMS Licensure expiration date is on or after July 1, 2026, the agency must apply prior to the licensure expiration date as outlined in the Program Handbook and meet all annual requirements for the preceding 12 months. The agencies’ recognition term, if successful, will follow their EMS Licensure cycle.
- An agency currently recognized by the legacy PVRP program can choose to apply at any time prior to their EMS Agency Licensure expiration date but them must meet all the recognition level requirements for at least 12 months prior to the application date.
- To apply for any level of recognition in the Prepared for Pediatrics – EMS program, follow the instructions on the Prepared for Pediatrics EMS page or in the Program Handbook. Questions should be directed via email to EMSC@PEHSC.org
